Beta blockers -Coreg, Toprol (metoprolol), Lopressor (atenolol)

  • Added for those with active ischemia or heart failure
  • Coreg (carvedilol) is best at reducing heart failure progression, reducing ischemia, and reducing mortality
  • Coreg is the only beta-blocker that improves insulin resistance
  • Main problem with Coreg is its side effect of fatigue
