Cancer Prevention & Early Detection
The best time to address cancer risk is before cancer develops.
Cancer is a scary concern for many.
Cancer risk is influenced by a combination of genetics, environmental exposure, and lifestyle choices.
Screening remains very important, when possible, for early disease detection.
In addition to standard screenings for cancers such as colon, breast, and prostate cancers, we offer testing that looks for very early markers of cancer circulating in the blood. This may enable detection of cancers, like pancreatic cancer, at a treatable stage.
Where possible, we need to prevent untreatable cancers. Hope is not a strategy. For patients with a personal history of cancer or a strong family history of cancer, we may recommend testing for environmental toxins that may contribute to mutations associated with cancer development.
Prevention done with intention
There is no single test, supplement, or therapy that can eliminate cancer risk. Effective prevention requires a thoughtful, individualized approach that considers genetics, lifestyle, environment, and overall health.
Supporting the body’s natural detoxification processes
The human body has a remarkable ability to eliminate toxins generated through normal metabolism and encountered in our environment.
Multiple body systems work together to process and eliminate toxins through the liver, kidneys, gastrointestinal tract, skin, and other natural detoxification pathways.
A variety of evidence-based strategies can support these natural detoxification processes. When specific environmental toxins are identified, we recommend targeted interventions designed to reduce exposure and support the body’s ability to eliminate them.
Environmental Toxin Testing
Potential contributors to cancer risk we may evaluate include:
- Environmental toxins (plastics, pesticides, herbicides, VOCs)
- Heavy metals
- Mold and other biotoxins
- Oral bacteria
- Intestinal Permeability (Leaky Gut)
